COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this course, you will explore the foundational concepts of microeconomics and gain a deep understanding of how individuals and firms make decisions in a world of scarce resources. Through engaging explanations, real-world examples, and visual learning tools, you will learn to analyze markets, evaluate trade-offs, and interpret the behavior of consumers and producers.

In this course, you will:

  • Learn core economic concepts such as scarcity, opportunity cost, and utility
  • Understand how supply and demand interact to shape markets
  • Explore production, cost, and revenue from a firm’s perspective
  • Examine the role of government intervention through taxes, subsidies, and regulations
  • Analyze different market structures including monopoly, oligopoly, and perfect competition
  • Measure responsiveness using elasticity of demand and supply
  • Investigate how international trade and protectionist policies affect domestic markets
  • Answer practice questions to reinforce key ideas
  • Apply economic reasoning to real-world scenarios and policy debates
